Frequently asked questions about Medido
What is Medido?
Medido is a smart medication dispenser that helps clients take their medication on time. With a reminder signal, the automatic dispenser notifies the client when it’s time to take their medicine. After the client presses the button, the medication dispenser offers correct number of pre-packaged sachets. Each sachet has a small tear notch, making it easy to open.
If the client hasn’t responded to the reminder within 45 or 75 minutes, the dispenser sends an alert to the care team. If they’re unable to reach the client, a caregiver will visit to check in.
Who is Medido intended for?
The medication dispenser is intended for clients who take several medicines daily and are eligible for the indication "medication support". Medido is also a valuable tool for clients with chronic conditions such as: depression, rheumatoid arthritis, Parkinson's or dementia.
Unsure if the medication dispenser is suitable for your client? Fill in the client selection form to quickly and easily assess eligibility based on a few key questions.
Why the Medido medication dispenser?
Does a client take multiple medications daily and sometimes forget to take them on time Then Medido offers the perfect solution. It's also a valuable tool for clients with limited hand function who may have difficulty opening traditional medication sachets.
What are the benefits of Medido?
Are you a client? Then Medido provides security, freedom, convenience, peace of mind and support with the correct medication use. In addition, Medido is reimbursed by health insurance providers.
Are you a healthcare professional? Then Medido saves time and provides certainty. The automatic medication dispenser makes medication use easier to monitor. On top of that, Medido is easy to use.
What is the power consumption of a Medido medication dispenser?
Manually turning off the Medido to reduce energy use can have serious consequences. The client might miss their medication, the dispensing schedule may be disrupted, and care providers could receive multiple alerts. For that reason, do not switch off the Medido (even at night).
The average energy consumption of the Medido Medicine Clock is: 2.16 kWh per month, which equals approximately 25.92 kWh per year. The difference in terms of consumption between the two types of automatic dispensers is negligible.

Why is the medication dispensing nothing working as expected?
Visit this page for possible reports and solutions.
Why was the medication sachet not cut correctly or or too far along?
Possible causes:
- Medication roll loaded incorrectly.
- Client pulls on medication sachet during dispensing.
- Print on medication sachet is unreadable for Medido.
- Medication roll is damaged.
- Medication dispenser settings are incorrect.
Solutions:
- Reload medicine roll. If this does not resolve the issue, please contact Medido Customer Service.
- Never pull on medication sachet during dispensing.
Why doesn't the issue run concurrently with the weekly schedule?
Causes:
- Empty medication bags on the medication roll. Pre- and post-roll pouches not removed when placing a new medication roll.
- New medication roll loaded too late.
- Client manually removed medication bags.
- Roll change was performed incorrectly: for example, when the last medication pouch of a medication roll was manually removed and not dispensed through the medication dispenser.
Solutions:
- Remove the medication roll from the Medido. Remove the medication pouches whose intake time has already passed and then reload the medication roll. Check that the time on the first medication pouch of the medication roll matches the dispensing time shown on the display.
If this does not help, contact Customer Service.
Note: Medication pouches must always be taken out through the medication dispenser! There are two options in the event of a roll change:
- Remove remaining medication bag(s) from the Medido by advance dispensing and then insert the new medication roll.
- Stick remaining medication pouches to the new medication roll and reload.
Why is the medicine bag not issued?
Cause:
- Medicine roll not loaded or loaded incorrectly.
- Medication pouch is jammed, such as because the medication roll is rolled too tightly and the last medication pouch is crumpled.
- Medicine roll is damaged.
Solution:
- Reload medicine roll.
- Contact Customer Service.
How can I set up medications outside the medication roll?
A separate signal can be put into the Medido medication dispenser for medication outside the medication dispenser. Think for example of a course of antibiotics or insulin. Please send an e-mail to Customer Service to activate this option via info.medido@evondos.com. Include the full name and date of birth of the client, the name of the organization, the report to be processed, the desired time of the report, and the duration of the report (for example, 1 week). Importantly, the time should not fall at the same time as the medication dispensing itself. Keep in mind that any medication moments during the travel cannot be dispensed. Consult with Medido customer service on the best solution for this. In case of absence longer than 1 week: The caregiver can inform our customer service by email or telephone that the Medido can be set to "inactive". This can be notified as early as 14 days in advance. When the client is back, the care should call our customer service to reactivate the Medido.
